TOURNAMENT RESULTS 2008/09

Family Twosome Provincials
Taylor Hanley bowled with his dad, Trevor on June 5th in Scarborough.
They came in 5th place out of 14!  They were treated to a night's
accommodation in Toronto and a trip to the Blue Jay
game at the Roger's Centre.


NATIONAL CLASSIFIED UPDATE
Our boys did us proud in Winnipeg this past weekend!
They came in 5th place at the Nationals!
Trevor Hanley won the highest average for the Class 4 Men.
Shawn Thorn won the most points for Class 1 Men!

Sid Griffin, Trevor Hanley, Aaron Hanley, Neil Anderson and Shawn Thorn were the Men's team representing Southern Ontario at the Nationals!

Bowler's Challenge was here on Sunday May 3rd.
Louise McCartney-West won 1st place and took home $400
Ron McCartney came in 2nd and won $200
Dave Logan came in 3rd and won $100

All Star Team 2009
 The All Star Tournament was held here on Sunday April 26th. Right from the start
our team was in a big lead. They slowed down after game 3 and 4, but managed to hold on to their lead and win the tournament!

 Our Men's Team reigned supreme at the Provincials
in Bolton on April 18th.
The race was close but they came out on top
and are on their way to Winnipeg, Manitoba for the Nationals!

Hi-Low Winners 2009
Madison Scott and Nicholas Wyant competed in the Provincial round of the Hi-Low Doubles and came home with a plaque for 1st runner up! Way to go team!

National Classified Tournament 2009
Our Men's Team came out on top on March 28th in the Regional Round. Next stop is the Provincials on April 18th in Bolton. They had to substitute Sid Griffin for Paul Hewitt because of illness. Sid held up his end with a 1354 over 5 games. Neil Anderson bowled 1259 and Shawn Thorn was 962 for the class 1. Great bowling and good luck at the provincials!

National Classified Ladies

The ladies team of Maryanne Trott, Carrie Ann Campbell, Cindy Anderson, Crystal Ingles and Peggy Palmer came in a very close 2nd place at the Regional Round here on March 28th. Their last game brought them up as Crystal bowled 306 and then Peggy bowled a 304! Great bowling all around! Way to go Ladies!

Leesa Breuker, Jamie Ineson and Master Rob Keith went to the Provincials in March.
As a team they did very well. Jamie brought home a trophy for most Pins Over Average!

held a tournament here on March 22nd.
It was no-tap (corner pins counted as
strikes), 3 games, pins over average.
Robert Ryan blew everyone out of the
water with his scores - 417, 231 and 381.
He was 417 pins over his average!
Coming in 2nd place was Keith Tippin +283!
He bowled 311, 218 and 288!
3rd place went to Paul Hewitt with +264.
He had 260, 295 and 375!
Susan Fryer came in 4th with 347, 331 and 154. (+256)
Laurie Seehaver came in 5th with 320, 231 and 306. (+206)

Midnight Madness Tournament
We held a Strike 13 Midnight Madness Tournament
here on Friday March 20th starting at 10:30pm.
We had 12 teams and a waiting list!
Lots of fun was had by all. First prize of $500
went to one of the Owen Sound Teams with 7607 over 5 games.
They were Ron McGarvey, Tracee Thompson,
 Dustin Fischer, Mitchell turner, and Mark Charlton.
2nd Place went to the young team of
Robert Ryan, Lucas Ackermann, Todd Griffin,
Travis Rawn and Evan McEachran.
They won $300.
3rd prize was $200 and went to last year's champs
 Trevor Hanley, John Redman, Keith Priestley,
Howard Heipel and Ryan Shaw.

did very well at the Provincials.
They came in 9th place out of
the whole province!

YBC Family Two-Some Tournament 2009
This popular tournament was held at Georgian Bowl on Sunday March 8th.
Photos are above.  1 PeeWee team advances to the Zone finals and that is Devon Thorn with his dad, Shawn. 2 Bantam teams move on and they are Nathan Hanley with his mom, Lee and Nicholas Wyant with his dad, Dwayne. 2 Junior teams also advance and they are Holly Gibson with her dad, Larry and Taylor Hanley with his dad, Trevor. 1 Senior team advances and that consists of Mike Rainey with his dad, Andy. Congratulations everyone and good luck at the Zone Finals!

The YBC Master Bantam was held here on Sunday March 1st. (See photos above) Collingwood won almost all of the hardware! Coming in first place with +276 was Jamie Ineson and Leesa Brueker with Master Rob Keith.
 Jamie was + 37, Leesa was +65 and Rob was a whopping +175.  His big games were 263 and 347!
Coming in second place with +238 was Nathan Hanley and Shelly Stewart with Master Trevor Hanley. Nathan was + 34, Shelly was +22 and Trevor was a huge +182! Trevor's big games were 313 and 285.
The individual medal for High Series Flat went to Madison Scott with a score of 428.
The High Single Flat went to Keziah Slute with a 182 and Clayton Walker with a 222!
The High Single Pins Over Average medals went to Dakota Wellbrock for a +95 and Nicholas Wyant with +102!
The High Single Pins Over Average medals went to Rachel Webb for +73 and Dustin Coulter for +52.

Phil Blagdon cleans up on Sunday Feb 12 as he competed for the chance to go to the Provincial Round of the coveted TSN Pins Game. He averaged 239 for his 10 games with 393 being his highest and his last for the day. Sid Griffin came in 2nd with an average of 228 over 10 games.

YBC High-Low Doubles Tournament
Nolan Varley and Craig Blackman came out on top for the Pee Wee Division with +134! Coming in 2nd place with +102 was Christopher Blackman and Joshua Hanley.
2 teams advance for the Bantam division and Nicholas Wyant and Madison Scott came first with +125 and Dakota Wellbrock and Faith Thorn placed second with +99. Coming in 3rd place was Nathan Plater and Shae-Lynn Bloomfield with +76.
2 Junior teams advance and they are Stanley Auger with Taylor Morris-Miller bowling +156 and second place was Ashley McGowan with Spencer Watters bowling +155.
What a close match!
Third place was not far off with +131 by Miranda Simmonds and Thomas Guthrie.
Only 1 Senior team advances and coming if first was Nick Hewitt and Adam McCulloch with +252! second place was Mike Rainey and Jamie Ryan with +208.

Adult High-Low Doubles Tournament
Mark Barley and Ryan Sturgess came out on top here on Sunday Jan 11th.
They had a combined total of 167 pins over their average!
Coming in second by only 2 pins was Larry Gibson and Sid Griffin.
3rd place was held by Neil Anderson and John Redmond with +155.
Congratulations Mark and Ryan and good luck at the next round!

Youth Challenge - Zone Round
Nick Hewitt and Robert Ryan (above photo) went on to the Zone round and did very well! Robert's team came in 1st! He is going to Welland Ontario to compete in the Provincials on Jan 31st. Nick's team came in 3rd! Very well done!

YBC Combo Team Tournament

The boys division Zone round was held here on Sunday Dec 7th.
We had 2 teams and both were over their average!
Nathan Hanley, Thomas Guthrie and Lucas Ackermann
came in 5th with 132 pins over their average!
Nicholas Wyant, Tyson Stewart and Tyler Meyers
 were 6th place with a plus 36. Very well done boys!

The girls had a lot of fun as well.  The are Dakota Wellbrock, Holly Gibson and Jamie Ryan on team 1 and team 2 consists of Rachel Webb, Taylor-Marie Pease and Melanie Hewitt. Way to go!

Bradley Coulter (left) wins this huge trophy when he bowled in the Tournament this past October. He won it for his outstanding 3 games! Way to go Bradley!

3rd place - winning $50 was Gary Coulter +386
$10 prizes went to Dave Logan for his 437 single,
Laurie Seehaver for her high 4 games and
Paul Kirby for his high 4 games.
A great time was had by all and we hope to see you out to the next fun Tournament on Sun Dec 21st. Cash prizes as well as door prizes for this next one.
